Quote 1: "My God, Lord of the Universe, give me strength never to do what Rabbi Eliahou's son had done" (Wiesel 97)
Analysis: Elie is praying to a god he no longer believes in, that he would never leave his father to better his chances at living longer. This shows how much animal in stinks are kicking in with the people and now they are forced to do almost ANYthing to survive. Elie wants to fight being an animal and be a human and love his father enough to not leave his father to die.
Quote 2: "He was playing his life. The whole of his life was gliding on the strings- his lost hopes, his charred past, his extinguished future" (Wiesel 100)
Analysis: As Juliek plays his last few songs he will ever play, he shows a bit of rebellion agents his cruel life. I think when the music played it gave some hope which everybody lacked. He died doing what he loved most which the Nazi did not want the Jews to do. They wanted them to suffer and not enjoy anything.

ch.1-2
"Jews, look! Look through the window! Flames! Look!"(Wiesel 36).
I think that she was trying to warn the Jews of the horrors to come. Madame Schächter yelling about the fire is foreshadowing how the jews will go to hell on earth.
"My father wept. It was the first time I had ever seen him weep"(Wiesel 28).
His father weeping is just an example of how during the Holocaust everything changed. It made people act and do things they never would have, like cry in front of their sons.

A Good Listener
In Of Mice and Men there is a lot of isolation. Multiple characters seek out someone who they can talk to who actually care or even just listen. For example Crooks the black stable hand just wanted someone to talk to. He lived by himself and nobody respected him because he is black and has a messed up back. When Lennie came in to Crookses room he was aggressive at first, but quickly warmed up to him and started talking about his deep thoughts. The same thing goes with Curley's wife. She was just dying to talk to anyone. She seemed like a flirt and she probably was, but I am sure that if she just had someone to talk to and who cared she wouldn't be such a looloo and the end of the story would be different.
A good listener will listen and care. They will listen and not just think about themselves, but think about things you didn't think of. With a good listener you don't have to worry about them running their mouth. I am very fortunate to not have confided in someone and them tell everyone. I have had people confide in me before and I have valued their friendship more afterwords. There is some sort respect for someone who has put their trust in you.

What Wonerful World
Man has never created a perfect world. People have tried and failed to create a perfect world. People's selfish wants and desires have gotten in the way, for example Communism. In China they are a communistic government and they say they want everyone to be equal. However there are a few very rich people and there are lots of very poor people. In my perfect world it would not be like that.
For starters there would be no hunger. Every one would have enough to eat and not have to worry about when their next meal might be. There would still be rich people and not as rich people, but no poor people. There would be jobs and the people who work harder and become doctors or something like that would get paid more. Every one would be different, but there would be no major deformities. I don't know how, but the doctors figured out how to inject something in the womb so that the baby would come out relatively normal. We would all have different personalities and look different. There would be advancement in technology and medicine that the majority of the major killing diseases and viruses would be curable and cheap.
Now on to the more fun part about my perfect world. The advancements in technology would not only help medicine, but would make our lives more fun. Scientist would have invented a jet pack that did not run on fuel, but instead run on salt water. All the cars would fly and also run on salt water. The planes would be super fast and affordable so that people could enjoy and experience different cultures. One last thing I would put in to my wonderful world is a invention that would float above the ground that we could sit on just like what Yoda has in Star Wars 2.
